The Merry Widow
A Famous Minuet by Bach?
Roses from the South by Johann Strauss
Spanish Dance (from The Gadfly)
Lara's Theme from Dr Zhivago (new sound)
Meine Lippen, sie kussen so heiss is from the Operetta Giuditta by Franz Lehar: "My lips give so fiery a kiss, My limbs, they are supple and pale, It is written in the stars for me: You shall kiss! You shall love!"
The story tells of the Army officer Octavio and his consuming love for Giuditta, who leaves him because he refuses to desert for her.
André Rieu plays this tune quite a lot.
Richard Tauber used to sing this aria (You are my heart's delight), from Lehar's operetta The Land of Smiles - Das Land des Lächelns. It is a love song in any language.
The Emu synth is being controlled by a Fatar Numa keyboard.
A lovely waltz from Lehar's The Merry Widow - this is "Es lebt eine Vilja" (from "Die lustige Witwe"), which tells the story of the Vilja, a mountain nymph, who beguiles a hunter with her rare beauty.
What you are hearing here is a Macbook, running Ivory's Italian Grand.
An arrangement for solo piano by Sara Heinze of the famous cello piece from the Third Cello Suite.
This is my Fatar Numa piano, working a piano synth by EMU.
This is "The Dance of the Hours of Day" from Amicare Ponchielli's opera La Gioconda.
Jean Kleeb made this cool jazzy arrangement of Bach's Minuet in G, from the Anna Magdalena Bach Book - the original is such a famous piece, that many people are surprised that it isn't actually by Bach: the original is by Johann Petzold, Bach merely copied it out. I think I prefer it as Jazz Minuet I.
What better to get the party started than a waltz by the waltz-king himself?
Shostakovich wrote this glittering piece, with its stream of fast semiquavers. It's great fun!
This is such a great tune - so evocative for anyone who has seen the film. It's by Maurice Jarre, from the David Lean film.
