Toccata

from the Organ Symphony No. 5 by

This most famous piece of French organ music makes for a very stirring Wedding March.

Full Title Toccata (from the Symphony No. 5) by Charles-Marie Widor (1844 – 1937)

Notes Widor's Toccata has been played at many royal weddings, including Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine Middleton on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

N.B. This requires a large organ in a big church to be effective - it may be playable in small country churches, but isn't recommended.

There is a piano arrangement.

Duration around six minutes

Performers required

  • Organ alone
  • Piano alone
