Notes The anthem We wait for thy loving-kindness, O God was written in 1947 for the marriage of HRH The Princess Elizabeth and Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten in Westminster Abbey. As Royal wedding anthems go, it is on the short side, apparently by order of the King.
McKie was organist and Master of the Music at Westminster Abbey from 1941 to 1963, and during these years directed the music for the royal wedding in 1947 and the Coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953.

We wait for thy loving-kindness, O God:
in the midst of thy temple.
Alleluia. O God, according to thy Name,
so is thy praise unto the world’s end:
thy right hand is full of righteousness. Alleluia.
O Lord, send us now prosperity. Amen.
